About the Danube-Black Sea Canal
The canal was constructed during years 1949-1955 and 1975-1984. It was inaugurated with special pomp on May 26th 1984. The canal is 64 kilometers long and links Cernavodă to Constanța, thus shortening the water way between the two with 400 kilometers. Both ends have locks.
