About professor Mircea Eliade

The scientific work of professor Mircea Eliade treated subjects of religion history (one of his most famous works being History of Religions and Religious Beliefs - Istoria credinţelor şi ideilor religioase). He studied philosophy at the the University of Bucharest and then in India at Calcutta. In 1990 he was post-mortem chosen member of the Romanian Academy.

Asa a fictional writer Mircea Eliade was noted for his fantasy prose and love novels (Maitreyi, Return from Heaven). The strange and misterious atmosphere is specific to his fantasy short novels of Eliade (At the Gypsies, On the Mîntuleasa Street, Secret of Doctor Honigberger, In Dionis's Yard).
