Mintage: 52.400.000 coins

It is presumed in monograph Monede și bancnote românești (Romanian coins and banknotes) that this coin was struck at Bucharest, with a mintage of 56.026.000 pieces. In Monetele României (Coins of Romania, Iliescu and Radovici, 2004) it can be found that the mintage of 52.400.000 coins was partially struck at Bucharest Mint, and partially in Hungary, at Metrom Works. The Schäffer - Stambuliu catalog from 2009 mentions that at Budapest 2.683.000 pieces of 5 lei 1947 were struck, and that these pieces can not be distinguished from the ones struck at Bucharest.

The side with the face value is identical with the one of 5 lei 1942 coin.
