A similar token is described inside article "Tokens and Chips from the Past of Bucharest City" (in Romanian, Jetoane și fise din trecutul orașului București [1]), by author Constantin Iacobovici). In this paper it is described that the factory's workers received such tokens as they delivered work products and, further on, they were handing the tokens to the cashier as they got payed. Match Factory in Filaret (Fabrica de Chibrituri de la Filaret) was inaugurated in 1879 [2], and the state's monopoly on matches was introduced by law in 1886. In 1887 [2] the state bought as well the Bucharest Match Factory. Consequently, such tokens can be dated back anytime between 1879 and 1887. ([1] describes a piece countermarked with the state coat of arms, probably in 1887.)
