Creditul Minier - Societate Anonimă Română pentru Desvoltarea Industriei Miniere (Mining Credit - Romanian Limited Company for the Development of the Mining Industry) - had its headquarters in Bucharest, on 43 Tache Ionescu Boulevard and was engaged in oil exploitation. The company had, among other things, several "gas stations installed on public roads" [1]. In 1933 [2] a modern apartment building was built in Bucharest on 16 Brătianu Boulevard (today Nicolae Bălcescu Boulevard), which was called the Mining Credit Palace. The plans of this building were made by architect State Baloşin (1885-1953). In this apartment building, besides the commercial spaces on the ground floor, there were 72 apartments [3]. In 1938, the travel office of L.A.R.E.S. (Liniile Aeriene Române Exploatate cu Statul, Romanian Airlines Operated with the State) operated on the ground floor of the Creditul Minier block. [4]. Currently, a hotel operates in this building.

The Creditul Minier block was also equipped with an elevator (or maybe several?). It appears that the access to the elevator was token-based, or perhaps the elevator started only when a token was inserted.

The current state of the art elevators are either free for use or activated by key, password, electronic card or tokens.
