The Romanian Star (Steaua Română) Petroleum Company was constituted in 1895, with a capital of 2.400.000 lei, mainly foreign.

In [1] these tokens were attributed to the city of Cîmpina.

Apparently, the image of the "Star of Romania" order, with swords, was used as logo by the "Steaua Română" (Romanian Star) society. On the image on the token, one can also distinguish part of the Latin motto of the order: "IN FIDE SALUS", meaning "In faith is salvation". The order was abolished in 1948 and re-established in 1998.
