Georges Riegler had a famous confectionery in Bucharest, on Calea Victoriei no. 66. He also had a confectionery in Sinaia around year 1900. There are postcards with the facade of the headquarters (La Confiserie Riegler à Sinaia, as it says on the postcard). Riegler was also a supplier of the royal court of Romania.

In the Annual of Bucharest (Anuarul Bucurescilor) for 1890-91 "Riegler George, cofetar, Palatul 1" is mentioned (meaning George Riegler, confectioner, Palace Street no. 1). In the annual of 1892 his address was Calea Victoriei nr. 66. In 1906, Georges Riegler appeared on several directories: confectioneries, candy makers, and also between chocolate manufacturers.

On the tokens of this series (there are also the values 25 and 50) other incuse numbers are found: 1, 3 or 5 [1]. The piece bears the name of the engraver Marcu Gerscovici.
