Essays of coins can be found that were never released into circulation, with designs differing totally from the actual issues and also essays struck with the official dies, but in other metals.

Broken letters, broken dies, eccentric strikes, double strikes and various curiosities are featured. Many of the errors pictured in these pages are only bad coins that passed through the quality control by mistake. Some very spectacular pieces are presumed to be manufactured intentionally, to be sold later on to the collectors.
