During the reign of king Carol II "Ministerul Instrucțiunii Publice" (Ministry of Public Instruction) bore various names: "Ministerul Instrucțiunii Publice și Cultelor", "Ministerul Instrucțiunii Publice, Cultelor și Artelor" (until November 1936), "Ministerul Educației Naționale", "Ministerul Educației Naționale, Cultelor și Artelor" (after November 1936).
